What to Expect After Scaling & Root Planing

Post-Care Instructions

1. Control Bleeding & Soreness
- Rinse with warm saltwater (½ teaspoon salt in a glass of lukewarm water) 2–3 times a day
- Take prescribed pain relievers if needed
2. Eating & Drinking
- Avoid spicy, acidic, and crunchy foods for the first 24 hours
- Eat soft foods like dal rice, curd, smoothies, and mashed vegetables
- Drink plenty of water to flush out bacteria
